ASU offers online education and presentations to enhance the student experience in class, as a member of a student group or organization, or within a residential college. Topics that are addressed through education include but are not limited to: developing healthy relationships, the continuum of violence, definitions of consent and sexual assault, and bystander intervention.
If you have experienced or witnessed any form of violence or have been a victim of another crime, you are not alone. Support is available. Contact a Victim-Survivor Advocate through the Sexual and Relationship Violence Program for free and confidential support. A Victim-Survivor Advocate can guide you through criminal justice system procedures, provide campus and community referrals and explain your reporting options.
Students are invited to get involved as Peer Educators, Interns, Volunteers, or in Student Organizations. Students may assist with awareness events, staffing information tables and serving on committees and workgroups, and program development and evaluation. Students participate in training that prepares them for the level of work they will do to promote violence prevention.
Educational posters, brochures, and banners are placed across campus to reinforce education and skills gained in class and online. In addition, ads reflecting the same messages are placed in the student newspaper to reach a wider student audience
ASU offers two signature events per semester designed to reinforce educational messages already offered through online platforms, in-person trainings, and social marketing messages. The signature events are offered each year and are designed to engage the community at large.

Programs
You Can Do Something Campaign
Arizona State University is committed to cultivating a community of care where everyone contributes to a safe and healthy campus environment. Everyone has been in a situation where they helped someone in need, and everyone has been in a situation where they needed help and didn’t get it. In September, the You Can Do Something Bystander Empowerment Campaign seeks to equip ASU community members with the skills and knowledge to serve as empowered bystanders.
Sun Devil Support Network
The Sun Devil Support Network (SDSN) is intended to be a peer advocate network for students who have experienced sexual violence. Advisors in SDSN are members of the ASU community trained to work with survivors of sexual assault on a variety of fronts. An advisor can provide support and information about legal, medical, and psychological resources available on and off campus.
Sexual Violence Prevention Leadership Program
The Sexual Violence Prevention Leadership Program is a six week program for students who are currently serving in a leadership role on campus or looking to develop leadership skills. Participants will meet once a week for facilitated discussion and education topics pertaining to sexual violence prevention including, but not limited to: the continuum of sexual violence, bystander intervention, healthy relationships, rape culture, consent, healthy sexuality, survivor support, and community resources. The purpose of this program is to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to identify and address rape-supportive norms, attitudes, and behaviors and mobilize social change in regard to sexual violence within their communities. The last session will end in action planning designed to impact their community.
